Thank you to David Forde for taking time to teach 3rd & 4th classes PE for the past few weeks. The children played lots of new games, worked together in pairs and groups, built up their running stamina and most importantly, had lots of fun!
36 pupils from first to sixth classes travelled to Lees Road to take part in the Cross Country Running. Well done to everyone who took part, we hope you all had a great day!
As we are focusing on creating healthy lifestyles, we are enjoying our fitness routines in our lining up areas every day.
Thanks to Ms. Wylde and our many leaders who engage us daily in energetic exercises! The Juniors and Seniors are linking their active lifestyles with their January Aistear theme. They have set up a local Crusheen Farmer's Market in their Aistear sessions! Lots of healthy food is being sold at the stalls.
They are busy making delicious smoothies from fresh fruit. They even designed some healthy dinner plates with food. The infants are encouraging each other to undertake lots of daily exercise along with eating healthily! Lots of active schoolwork and homework ongoing in January in Juniors and Seniors!
Keep up the good work! We are starting off the new year on a healthy note by taking part in the Operation Transformation 10@10. It is a great way to get moving in the classroom and to try out some different stretches and exercises.
After Christmas, we will be selecting new pupils for our Active School Committee. This wonderful bunch provided us with great ideas and they were very motivating for the rest of our pupils. Well done everyone!
Our girls basketball team will be training after school on Thursdays from 3 - 4pm. All girls from 4th - 6th classes are welcome to attend training.
