Our school tour took place on May 27th. We firstly headed to Cratloe, to Ballymorris Pottery. There, we met Hannah and she welcomed us to her studio. She showed us how to work with clay. We then began making our pots and decorated them. Finally, we painted them and Hannah will fire them in the kiln for us. Thank you Hannah! We really enjoyed ourselves at your studio! As the day was very wet, we were unable to go to the playground. Instead, we had a story-time session in DeValera library in Ennis. Thanks to Maria's Mammy who read us a lovely story. Next, we headed over to the fire-station where we met Steven the fire-fighter. He brought us into the control room and he explained what happens when a call comes in about a fire. He let us use the walkie-talkies which we thought was great fun! He then brought us into the changing room and those who wanted to wear the safety helmet could do so. After that, he opened up the fire-truck and we saw the inside and all the equipment. Finally, he let each of us spray the big hose! Thank you Steven for the lovely lollipops too! It was a great day. Thanks to everyone who helped to make our day so special!
