Third to sixth classes were delighted to welcome Eddie Lenihan to our school this week. Eddie told some stories from the local area and some from further afield. As always, the children were enthralled. We are lucky to have such a renowned storyteller living in our community and we always look forward to his visits.

Seachtain na Gaeilge
We have been celebrating ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ this week ar scoil. All classes have been engaged in activities to promote the Irish language as well as our Irish culture. We are encouraging everyone to use their ‘cúpla focal’ in class and at break times. Pupils who have really impressed during the week were presented with ‘Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine certs’ during Assembly today. Our ‘Lá Glas’ was an opportunity for everyone to ‘wear the green’ and get ready for our national celebration this weekend. Pupils from all classes enjoyed participating in our ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ Art competition. using a sean fhocal as a theme for their picture. Pupils involved in Irish dancing also practiced their dancing for a ‘taispéantas’ during Assembly on Thursday. The musicians also practiced their tunes for a performace too. We hope that all our pupils enjoyed the week and have a greater appreciation of our Irish culture after the week’s activities. Tá súil againn gur bhain na páisti taitneamh agus tairbhe as na gníomhaíochtaí go léir a bhí ar siúl rith Seachtain na Gaeilge. Tá seans maith ann go mbeidh meas agus grá acu don teanga Ghaeilge agus don chultúr World Book Day
