Well done to all the pupils in 5th class who made a fantastic effort in creating their very own Christmas decoration. Everyone must be commended for their wonderful imagination and creativity. I hope they are put in a special place in your house this Christmas.
Well done to 'England' who won our 5th & 6th class World Cup!! All pupils in 5th & 6th class took part in the fun tournament held at small break each day. Each game was very competitive but held in a very sporting manner with pupils making great efforts to help their team get over the line. Well done to everyone, helping to make it so enjoyable.
3rd, 4th & 5th classes had great fun conducting our now annual Santa Dash on the last day. It wasn't easy fit in with inclement weather against us but that didn't daunt pupils from getting out and doing the fun run. Well done to everyone, making great efforts to keep active, and get into the festive spirit. Happy Christmas to everyone and all the best in 2023.
Well done to all the pupils in our school who treated everyone to a wonderful start to Christmas today in the school yard with our Christmas Carols and traditional Irish music. The pupils had lots of fun preparing for this over the past few weeks and really enjoyed entertaining the large gathering who came out to support them. Thank you to everyone who attended, really helping to enrich the whole experience. We hope you enjoyed it as much as the pupils did.
5th class really enjoyed getting into the festive spirit this term, experimenting with paint and colour to create these wonderful Winter scenes. Well done to everyone on their excellent efforts.
Pupils in 5th class have really enjoyed reading the novel 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. We really enjoyed making predictions, and using all the different comprehension strategies such as comparing and synthesising.
Pupils from 5th class really enjoyed the last 4 weeks of swimming lessons held in Shannon Leisure Centre. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this possible.
5th class are getting started on their Christmas Craft early. Well done to everyone on their excellent efforts!!
5th class received a great introduction to native Irish wildflowers and trees through storytelling and music from the wonderful Marina Levitina. The children met several plants and trees in an old woodland, and were able to hear trees and flowers “sing” through the Music of the Plants biofeedback device. We also heard traditional stories about plants. Pupils enjoyed the whole experience immensely.
For anti-bullying week we discussed all the different types of bullying. We also learned a song, the Friends Theme Song “I’ll be there for you”. Garda Lorraine and Garda Irene came in to talk to us also about bullying and about what we should do if we notice someone being bullied. As an anti-bullying week activity, we made posters and put them on the windows for all the school to see. We also did 'Good Deeds', arts and crafts and put a real emphasis on being kind to each other this week. We really enjoyed anti- bullying week 2022.
