Pupils from 4th & 5th classes completed their 'Heritage Keepers' local history tour today. We visited and learned a great deal about St Brigid's Well, O Brien's Castle, a local ringfort, the old train station and other interesting spots around the village. Many thanks to Eddie Lenihan and the 'Heritage Keepers' initiative for making this possible. We really enjoyed the day and hope to collate and pass on this history for many years to come.
Pupils had great fun at their recent sports day held in the GAA pitch. Thankfully the weather stayed dry and we were able to have a fun filled day of events and novelty races. Well done to everyone on their efforts!
Many thanks to Caroline Dillon who took all classes for a dance session this week. Pupils had great fun together and learned a few new moves also!
The boys hurling team had a very positive year losing out narrowly in the Mini 7s finals and making it to the semi final stage of the championship proper. Great progress was made and much experience and learning taken from the events. We look forward to next year already.
Many thanks to Aisling who came and did a wonderful yoga session with all the classes as part of Active Week. Pupils really enjoyed the experience with its mixture of stretching and relaxation.
