Well done to all of our 4th class boys and girls who played in GAA blitzes over the past two weeks. Mr. Gantley complimented all of those playing on their behaviour and great performance in every match!
So far this year, our class have learnt about islands, lakes, bays, headlands and lighthouses of Ireland. Each week we complete a stations lesson where the children do three different activities based on our topic of the week. Here are some great 3D lighthouses that the children cut out, coloured and constructed last week. Everyone's work turned out great and making the lighthouse turned out to be a tricky task for teacher and students alike! This week we are learning about the counties and provinces of Ireland, feel free to ask the boys and girls to share their counties poem with you!
Last week, 3rd and 4th class worked together to create a list of synonyms for commonly used words. These posters were then created in groups. I think everyone will agree that the children did beautiful neat work! The children have been really great at using these posters to help them think of words whilst writing!
In September, 3rd & 4th class learnt about Early Christian Ireland. We then learnt about the Vikings and their raids on Early Christian monasteries. The children wrote brilliant recount writing pieces on Viking raids and completed these wonderful Viking longship art pieces!
