Senior infants and First class were busy investigating sound. They did an experiment to find out which material was the best sound muffler. They found that cotton wool muffled the sound the best.
We read the book 'Hurricane' by David Wiesner. We were practising visualiation and created wonderful images of the story in our heads. Later we sketched some of these images in our sketch pads.
Senior Infants and First Class were working on procedural writing. They made some tasty rice crispy buns and wrote about it.
.Third and Fourth classes had a wonderful time at Clare Museum in Ennis. We met two sean nós singers Ellie Marie O' Dwyer from Freemount Co. Cork and Liam Flanagan from Corofin. They told us stories about emigration and the famine. Every song tells a story and we listened to some of these songs sung by Ellie Marie and Liam, The Chapel Gates of Cooraclare, The Green hills of Clare and Its a Long, Long way. We also learned a new song called Thousands are Sailing
