Juniors and Seniors are looking forward to the Late Late Toy show on the television tonight!
Lots of fun guaranteed! Our Maths game this week linked with our Aistear theme on Outer Space.
Lots of fun trying to 'catch' stars in the game! We celebrated World Nursery Rhyme Week 2018 which was held from Nov. 19th- Nov 23rd. We recited many nursery rhymes during the week and lots of rhyming words were discussed. We also undertook a nursery rhyme quiz. On Friday we performed a selection of rhymes for Ms. O'Connell's class. Finally, we received a certificate for all our good work!
Thank you to Emily and Ben's Mum who came to talk to us about how to wash our hands correctly. We learnt all about germs and how they can travel. We learnt the various stages involved in washing and drying our hands.
We are continuing our learning about Outer Space in our Aistear sessions.
We created lots of rockets from junk art materials. 5,4,3,2,1 - Blast Off!! We explored Science week and linked our literacy work on the procedural writing genre with many experiments. We explored the concepts of dissolving and diffusing with skittles and water; the principles of density and buoyancy with raisins and a fizzy drink; floating and sinking; colour changing with milk; magnetism and finally we examined a chemical reaction on an egg with vinegar. Lots of new vocabulary and scientific work was produced during the week!
