We have been examining 2d and 3d shapes using our 'Maths Eyes'. Some of us have even started to construct some of them at home from card. Here is a pyramid made by one of the Senior Infants!
Our class had lots of fun during Maths week. We undertook two Maths trails during the week- one based on Number and the other on Shape and Space. We used lots of Maths language in class and at home in our homework activities. We used our Maths eyes to spot Maths in our everyday tasks. We love Maths!!
We have learnt a lot of new vocabulary about storybooks.
We put it to good use during our Buddy Reading sessions!
We are very excited to have a new visitor to our classroom. His name is Micheál and he has joined our class for a few weeks. He loves to sit beside all the boys and girls and he helps everyone with their work.
We have been busy collecting and examining leaves and conkers. We discussed the wonderful Autumn colours all around us. As well as that we also learnt about the many animals who hibernate and we constructed their homes for their long Winter sleep. We made lots of hedgehogs from clay and painted fabulous Autumn trees.
We had a visit from two budding scientists who demonstrated to us how pulleys and levers work with a lego construction. Thank you boys!
A lady by the name of Kathy came to visit us. She told us all about the Team Hope Christmas Shoe Box appeal. Last year, she helped to deliver the boxes to the children in the photos and she thanked the school children of Crusheen NS for all their good work. We saw lots of happy children in the photos after opening their Christmas boxes!
We are the Junior and Senior Infant Stars from Crusheen N.S. Co. Clare. We hope you enjoy viewing many of our activities!
