Our school tour took place on May 27th. We firstly headed to Cratloe, to Ballymorris Pottery. There, we met Hannah and she welcomed us to her studio. She showed us how to work with clay. We then began making our pots and decorated them. Finally, we painted them and Hannah will fire them in the kiln for us. Thank you Hannah! We really enjoyed ourselves at your studio!
As the day was very wet, we were unable to go to the playground. Instead, we had a story-time session in DeValera library in Ennis. Thanks to Maria's Mammy who read us a lovely story. Next, we headed over to the fire-station where we met Steven the fire-fighter. He brought us into the control room and he explained what happens when a call comes in about a fire. He let us use the walkie-talkies which we thought was great fun! He then brought us into the changing room and those who wanted to wear the safety helmet could do so. After that, he opened up the fire-truck and we saw the inside and all the equipment. Finally, he let each of us spray the big hose! Thank you Steven for the lovely lollipops too! It was a great day. Thanks to everyone who helped to make our day so special!
We recycled old socks and planted grass seeds inside them. We are really proud of our creative little sock creatures with their crazy hair!
Freddy, our class teddy bear has been busy on his travels around Crusheen!
He brings back lots of exciting stories from his many adventures. By the end of June he will have visited all the homes of the Junior Infants in the parish!
Congratulations to our four Write -a-Book winners from Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First class. They were presented with their awards at the Inn at Dromoland. Well done to all pupils who took part in the writing competition this year!
The people working in the Sightsavers office in Dublin were very impressed with our entries for their art competition. They sent us all a nice certificate for our efforts.
We loved visiting The Smoothie Bar during our Aistear sessions. We made Smoothie Bar posters and used toy money to buy our smoothies. We learnt the names of many fruits and learnt how to make delicious smoothies. Yummy!
We have been busy watering and looking after our watercress seeds. They now have grown and we hope to put some into our salad or sandwiches.
We are the Junior and Senior Infant Stars from Crusheen N.S. Co. Clare. We hope you enjoy viewing many of our activities!
