Thank you to Phoebe for organising the Outreach Education Programee visit to our school. Thank you also to National Parks & Wildlife Service staff Karen, Jenni and Liz who visited our school to give a nature themed Powerpoint presentation followed by a show and tell segment with stuffed animals and other props.

Pupils are delighted to have the Food Dudes Healthy Eating Programme in our school this week. Everybody is look forward to sampling fruit and vegetables during the week.

The first of February is the feast day of one of the premier saints in the Irish tradition, Saint Brigid which celebrates the arrival of longer, warmer days and the early signs of spring on February 1st One of the most common traditions of the day is to make a Saint Brigid's Cross. Christmas DecorationsChristmas Decorations Well done to all the pupils from Juniors to 6th class who made magnificent efforts with their Christmas decorations this year. The pupils’ imagination and creativity must be commended. Unfortunately, there could only be one winner in each class but well done to everyone on their excellent participation, it was a great way for everyone to get into the festive spirit. Well done to all the pupils in our school who treated everyone to a wonderful start to Christmas yesterday in the school yard with Christmas carols and traditional Irish music. The pupils had lots of fun preparing for this over the past few weeks and really enjoyed entertaining their family and friends who had come to support them. Thank you to everyone who came yesterday. We hope you enjoyed it as much as the pupils did. The schools Safety statement and risk assessments are currently under review. These documents have been circulated to staff, B.O.M. and Crusheen National school parents' association for review and will be ratified before the end of the year and available on the website.
Monday 4th November to Friday 11th November was Kindness/Friendship week in our school. The Student Council promoted this to all classes encouraging pupils to do friendship activities for that week e.g. Friendship song; Secret Friend gift; Art work; Friendship Chain; Kindness tasks for the week, Friend games. Well done everyone. Have a read of our newsletter to see what classes did for that week.
We are delighted to be awarded with the Active School Flag (ASF). Well done to the Active School Committee, all the pupils and parents in securing a renewal of our Active School Flag until 2025.
Congratulations to the Crusheen U16 camogie team and management who won the U16B Cup Final on Sunday. Representatives from the team and management visited the school on Monday. There was great excitement and everybody was delighted to welcome back some of our ex pupils.

Well done to the U10 Crusheen GAA hurling boys on their recent victory in the Niall Donoghue Shield competition in Kilbeacanty. Congragulations boys and to all involved. All the pupils and staff are delighted for you.

It was a great weekend for the Crusheen GAA girls as they won the U-13C Girls Camogie final and also won the U-12 Girls Football Final. Well done to the panel of girls, coaches and parents on a great achievement. All pupils in the school were delighted to celebrate their achievements. |
