Cuman na mBunscol Hurling Division 3 Final
The Cumann na mBunscol final will take place on Tuesday 12th June in Cusack Park. Time to be confirmed on Monday. Pupils from 2nd to 6th class will travel by bus to support the team. All support welcome.
Bring on the Final!
On Thursday 7th June our camogie team took to Gurteen to take on Kilmaley in the Cumann na mBunscol Semi-final. The team started strong with a goal from a free taken by Hannah Gleeson. The team continued to build on this with a goal from captain Caoimhe Clancy. However, injury struck with Grace Gleeson having to be taken off followed by injury to Caoilfhionn Perill’s ankle. However, this didn’t stop the girls determination as super saves from our goalie Sinead Sheedy kept us in the game. Grace Gleeson’s determination took over as she made another appearance to score a goal and a point. Unfortunately, this was not to be her day as she had to come off with a broken finger at half time. Some great battling from our backs kept the Kilmaley side scoreless at half time. Going into the second half without our two midfielders meant a lot of players took up positions they weren’t used to with Aimee Colleran scoring a super point from mid field, followed by another goal and two points from Caoimhe Clancy and finally another a great score from Sarah O’Donnell leaving us deserving winners!! This enables us to progress to the final in Cusack Park next Tuesday. The team was as follows: Sinead Sheedy, Síomha Perrill, Caoimhe Clancy, Aimee Colleran, Grace Gleeson, Caoilfhionn Perill, Áine Sheedy, Hannah Gleeson, Sarah O’Donnell, Clara Butler, Cora Houlihan, Keelin Forde, Lucy Keane, Lelia Ryan, Adrielle O’Connell, Ava Guilfoyle and Clodagh Barry.
