We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as book characters. We also listened to some stories told to us by Hannah's grandad David, who came all the way from Cork to visit us. He has written a book of children's stories and we loved listening to his tales.
First & second classes made some pretty clay pots last week in Art. First, they experimented with the clay - making shapes and patterns. Then, they made pinch pots and decorated them using special clay tools. The next step was to paint the pots and finally, they painted the pots with PVA glue to create a glossy finish!
First & second classes had great fun this week learning about Maths through a variety of games. They played draughts, snakes & ladders, cards and Ipad games. They also practised counting on their hundred squares.
We did a lot of activities for Science Week. We explored forces using stomp rockets and magnets. We investigated liquids by making lava lamps with oil & water. We did a magic milk experiment and we tested "lunar modules" to see if we could land our two astronauts safely on the moon.
What an effort everyone made to dress up for school today! Well done everyone, you all looked amazing!
